VICE-PRESIDENT VISITS DUBAI HEALTH AUTHORITY’S HEAD OFFICE
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, being briefed on health initiatives by Humaid Bin Mohammad Al Qutami, Chairman of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) during his visit to the DHA head office. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, was present.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) head office, where he was briefed about the authority’s initiatives including the Rashid Medical Complex project which is central to the emirate’s medical tourism plan.
Shaikh Mohammad enquired about the operations and improvements being made by the authority, as well as a number of vital projects and studies being prepared as part of the authority’s strategy for 20162021. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, was also present.
Shaikh Mohammad listened to a presentation by Humaid Bin Mohammad Al Qutami, Chairman of DHA, and assistants on the plans and initiatives launched by the authority to improve health-care services.
The presentation included the Rashid Medical Complex project, which will be built over 600,000 square metres. The project aims to enhance and stimulate the medical tourism movement by 2020, attracting more than 500,000 tourists from the UAE and abroad.
This will help the UAE, Dubai in particular, become the favoured destination for medical tourism, particularly for people from the Middle East and North Africa.
The medical complex will also have residential units and five star hotels.
Shaikh Mohammad and his accompanying delegation then viewed a model of the project.
Shaikh Mohammad promised his support for DHA’s strategy for developing healthcare services. He assured all forms of support that allows DHA to develop its establishments, plans, medical cadres and administrative staff.
