Cabbie arrested on allegation of sexual assault

driver of an app-based cab aggregator was arrested here yesterday over allegations of sexually assaulting a woman, police said.

Uber driver Gaurav Saha allegedly beat up the victim and tried to sexually assault her in the cab on Thursday, said an official of the women’s police station in neighbouring Howrah district. “The [woman] and the accused came in contact through Facebook and were in a relationship. However, the relationship deteriorated when Gaurav walked away from the promise of marrying her,” said the official. (IANS)
