UAE mourns

President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has mourned the death of Shaikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al Thani, former Emir of Qatar.

“The former Emir was one of the pioneers of the GCC joint work who joined his fellow leaders in the establishment of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and strengthening its march,” the Ministry of Presidential Affairs said in a statement. Shaikh Khalifa sent a cable of condolences to Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, sent a similar cable to Qatari Emir. Also, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also sent a condolence cable to Shaikh Tamim.
