Emirates Post to lease space to private firms

Business centres and travel agencies have launched operations from post offices

-

Emirates Post Group (EPG) said it is continuing to lease space in post offices to private companies that provide related and complementary products and services. This is part of the group’s plan to make post offices one-stop shops for various public services.

Since the launch of the strategy in early 2012, a number of companies, including travel agencies and business centres, have launched their operations from post offices.

In a statement yesterday, EPG said a number of companies are also in the process of signing up for the rented spaces in post offices, including some banks, to enable Emirates Post customers to pay for their shipments and the surrounding community transactions.

“Emirates Post seeks to widen the basket of services available to our customers by signing up with private companies. We are witnessing strong demand for the spaces in post offices. However, we are selective in deciding the type of businesses that would be allowed to operate from our premises. Each applicant is considered on a case-bycase basis,” stated Ebrahim Bin Karam, chief commercial officer at EPG. to do cash
