In a cautiously optimistic market, here are your top picks

- By M. Sen

After a four-year bull run, the Pakistan property market is experiencing a relative slump on the back of the federal budget 2016-17 and an amendment to the Income Tax Ordinance 2001. However, the outlook for many property investment options across the country continues to look stable and promising.

That said, investment advisers are only cautiously optimistic about the future, given the slowdown was as recent as the last quarter. Most would rather wait and watch.

“I believe the current decline can be attributed to the newly imposed tax regime and although I do anticipate that the situation will improve, it will take some time,” Tariq Masood, CEO of realty agency TM Associates, told Pakistani property portal Zameen.com.

However, for those in it for the long haul and end user buyers, this is the perfect opportunity to pick a good deal.
