Sole DXB relaunches R.A.P. London

-

R.A.P. London by Hassan Hajjaj, a streetwear brand, will be relaunched at Sole DXB, a two-day street culture festival in Dubai. Sole DXB will take place from November 18-19 at Dubai Design District (d3).

R.A.P. stands for Real Artistic People. The brand was last commercially available 20 years ago. It was launched in London in 1984 as a socio-political statement.

“The big fashion labels didn’t design for people like us, so we’d go and buy the fabric and put it on the back of jackets. My peers were people like Soul II Soul, Omar, London Posse, pirate DJs — that’s the friends I grew up with,” said the Moroccan-born Hajjaj.

Two decades after R.A.P closed its doors, Sole DXB will relaunch the label with the help of Cadillac. They will showcase 12 unisex pieces.
