Animals fed ice lollies in Colombia zoo
Zookeepers
at the Santa Fe Zoo have come up with a novel way to engage visitors while keeping animals cool in the sweltering summer heat. Each weekend for five hours a day until February 26, visitors can help prepare frozen fruit lollies for a diverse range of animals, said zookeeper and veterinarian Darwin Ruiz.
Temperatures in the western Colombian city have been in the low 30s degree Celsius with 80 per cent humidity since the beginning of February.
