Lea to perform at Dubai Opera

Tony Award-winning Filipino singer and actress Lea Salonga will perform at Dubai Opera on September 22 and 23, organisers announced this week. Tickets will go on sale today at 9am.

Salonga is currently a judge on the Philippine’s version of The Voice.

Salonga was a child star in her home country in the late ‘70s and broke out with the role of Kim in Miss Saigon in 1989. She played Grizabella in Cats in Manila and was the first Asian person to play Eponine in the musical Les Miserables on Broadway.

She’s also known for her singing voice in Disney productions. She performed as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan and Mulan II.
