Consistent four to meet in Bukhatir semi-finals

UBL, Globelink, Alubond and Multiplex reach last four of 43rd edition

Top four teams that produced excellent performanc­e throughout the 43rd edition of the Bukhatir Premier League at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium have reached the semi-finals.

United Bank Limited (UBL), Globelink WestStar Shipping, Alubond Tigers and Multiplex Internatio­nals will battle for a place in the final.

UBL defeated New Medical Centre (NMC) by four wickets to clinch their place among the last four, while Globelink WestStar beat Fly Emirates by five wickets for their place in the semi-final.

Multiplex Internatio­nal scored an emphatic 103 runs win over Sharjah Cricket Club to move to the last four while Alubond Tigers followed by crushing One Stop Tourism by 128 runs. UBL will now take on Globelink in the first semi-final while Alubond will meet Multiplex.

UBL bt NMC by 4 wickets.

NMC: 256 in 46.3 overs (Fayyaz Ahmed 104, Shahbaz Ahmed 39, Ali Abid 56; Zaheer Maqsood 5 for 41, Mohammed Naveed Saleem 3 for 45). UBL: 257 for 6 in 37.4 overs (Syed Maqsood 46, Muhammed Shakir 58, Mohammad Boota 40; Hussain Irshad 3 for 50).

Globelink WestStar bt Fly Emirates by five wickets.

Fly Emirates: 279 for 9 in 50 overs (Irfan Arif 48, Adil Reyal 63; Shanib MM 3 for 47). Globelink: 284 for 5 in 48.5 overs (Jiju Janardhana­n 68, Anfal PM 63n.o, Vineeth Viswanatha­n 55n.o; Reyal 3 for 56).

Multiplex Internatio­nal bt Sharjah Cricket Club by 103 runs.

Multiplex 330 for 6 in 50 overs (Balwinder Singh 80, Akhlaq Butt 43, Zeeshan Khan 61n.o). Sharjah CC: 227 in 40.4 overs (Chirag Suri 89,; Zeeshan Khan 3 for 53).

Alubond Tigers bt One Stop Tourism by 128 runs.

Alubond Tigers: 309 for 9 in 50 overs (Abdul Shakoor Sher 41, Mohammad Qasim 94, Nasir Aziz 55, Fayyaz Ahmed 45n.o; Rohan Mustafa 4 for 45). One Stop Tourism: 181 in 41.1 overs (Qasim 5 for 40).

Meanwhile, UAE player Fayyaz Ahmad, playing for Alubond Tigers, sparkled against One Stop Tourism with an unbeaten 45 and taking two wickets. Fayyaz said: “Last two overs I hit over 40 runs to ensure my team get a total of over 300 runs and took some crucial wickets.”
