‘Django’ to be screened in Dubai

- Django,

the feature film that follows the life and times of the iconic French jazz musician Django Reinhardt, will release in Dubai at the Vox Cinemas in Mall Of The Emirates from June 1 until June 14.

The film’s release is a part of the initiative, DIFF 365@VOX, to promote independent cinema.

Django, which opened the 67th Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, is a tale of passion in the face of oppression.

In 1943, France is mired under German occupation. Yet, every night the city comes alive with guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt’s witty, life-affirming music. Despite the ongoing persecution, Django, played by actor Reda Kateb, remains untouched due to his popularity and sway of the Parisian elite. But things turn awry when the unconventional musician is torn between his passion for his art and protecting his family.

Tickets are available on uae.voxcinemas.com and at the box office at Vox Cinemas. — Staff Report
