The Gulf nations yesterday joined in condemning the terrorist attack targeting the Grand Mosque in Makkah, saying such attacks are against all religious, moral and humanitarian values.

Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has condemned the crime that targeted the Al Masjid Al Haram in Makkah.

He emphasised that the UAE backs and stands in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz.

“This heinous crime exposes the extent of terrorism and the savagery of those terrorist groups, and no one in their right mind can justify or explain it,” Shaikh Abdullah stated.

Hailing the efficiency of the Saudi security services that foiled the heinous crime, he said that every Muslim in the world praises what the Kingdom is doing to serve Islam and Muslims and spread love and tolerance among all peoples of the world.

“This heinous crime will make us even more formidable and determined to eliminate terrorism and eradicate its sources along with all those who finance, incite, sympathise with, or justify it in any manner whatsoever,” Shaikh Abdullah added.

Bahrain has condemned the vicious terrorist plot that targeted the security of the Grand Mosque in Makkah as well as worshippers, stressing that the despicable act of terrorism is contrary to all religious, moral and humanitarian values. Bahrain expressed its sincere appreciation of the great role of Saudi Arabia under King Salman in providing all the comforts and tranquillity for worshippers, visitors and pilgrims, according to the Bahrain News Agency.

It also lauded the outstanding efforts of the security personnel in thwarting the cowardly terror plot, and affirmed that it stands fully with Saudi Arabia in its leadership role to consolidate and enhance security and peace in the region and across the world. Bahrain said that it also fully supports all the actions and measures by Saudi Arabia to eliminate terrorist organisations.

Closer cooperation

It reiterated its firm position in rejecting terrorism and stressed the need for closer international cooperation to eliminate the phenomenon that threatens all nations and peoples without discrimination and to rid the world of the serious scourge and all those who support and finance it.

Meanwhile, an official source at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the despicable terrorist plot.

In a press statement, the source described that the plot as a blatant aggression against Muslim sanctities and a provocation to Muslim feelings, according to Kuwait News Agency, KUNA.

The source affirmed Kuwait’s support to all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to maintain its security and stability.

The source also lauded the Saudi security forces’ success in foiling the terrorist attack and hailed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to confront terrorism and serving Muslim pilgrims and worshippers.

Al Azhar has also condemned the terror plot.
