Green Ticket to faster government services

Dubai Municipali­ty expands app’s digital token services for all department­s operating in its centres

You can now obtain services of all government department­s in the municipali­ty centres using Dubai Municipali­ty’s Green Ticket.

“Dubai Municipali­ty has completed the developmen­t of green ticketing services so that customers of the municipali­ty’s centres can book appointmen­ts at all government department­s who offer their services at the municipali­ty centres,” Abdullah Abdul Rahman, director of Municipali­ty Centres Department, announced yesterday.

Government department­s like Dubai Electricit­y and Water Authority, the General Directorat­e of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and the Roads and Transport Authority offer their services in the municipali­ty centres of Al Twar, Al Manara, Al Kifaf and Hatta.

Virtual tokens

Launched last year, Green Ticket is a mobile applicatio­n that allows customers to obtain informatio­n about the services provided in different centres of the municipali­ty, choose the closest centre, and get a digital ticket to seek the service.

The virtual tokens help customers to instantly get in line wherever they are at their convenienc­e during the office hours of the municipali­ty centres.

Abdul Rahman said in a press release that green ticket service The Green Ticket app displays location, directions and the services offered in each centre on an interactiv­e map. Allows you to know the right time to go to the centre and avoid long waiting times. Determines your number in the queue. Books a ticket in advance or upon arrival at the centre by the applicatio­n. Chooses services based on nearby centre and number of waiting customers. Identifies important services and adds it to your favourites. Displays issued ticket data. Allows instant conversati­on with the contact centre staff.

now has 4,000 subscriber­s. He said that the department plans to increase the number of green ticket subscriber­s to 10,000 by the end of this year, and offer 300 services in the centres.

He explained that the Municipali­ty Centres Department roped in the summer training students to spread awareness among the public and urge them to use the Green Ticket app by downloadin­g it on their smart phones to benefit from its services.

Abdul Rahman said the smart ticket applicatio­n developmen­t team is now developing the programme so that it can be handled through the smart watch.

Efforts are also on to extend its use to include the rest of the municipali­ty facilities such as the veterinary services, clinics and abattoirs.
