A place you can’t forget

-

I left Dubai last year after 25 years. All my children were born there (‘Leaving Dubai is easy but a heartache’, Gulf News, July 19). We have very good memories. The love and respect I got there was immense. All departments work very efficiently and work is done in a transparent manner. When you move from there, you realise how Dubai pampers you and spoils your habits. All the good memories of it haunts me. My children still miss it and want to move back again. God willing, I am also thinking to come back again. From Mr Shabbeer Moosvi UAE Facebook comment

The good and the bad

E ach and every one of us has our reason for why we left Dubai, but we always say ‘thank you’ for the good times we experienced and what we had during our stay in Dubai. From Ms Jude Galvan Dubai Facebook comment

Needed to save more

I left Dubai two weeks ago, and I don’t regret it. I just felt sad because I left my family and friends there. I worked in my company for more than two years, but I only saved a little and sometimes it was really frustrating. There was no salary increase and even many commodity prices increased. Half my salary just went to paying the rent, internet, water and electricity, and transportation. My lifestyle was not that expensive. At the end of the month, my savings weren’t big enough. I thank Dubai for adopting me for 2.6 years. From Ms Aileen Grace Ancheta Alberva UAE Facebook comment

Happy here

W e all cannot have the same experience in Dubai. At the time, some have had a bad experience and others are living so good and having an amazing

experience! That is life and this is happening everywhere in the world. I always thank God and I thank Dubai. I am happy living here. From Mr Ben Mankiy UAE Facebook comment

Invested in property

W ell said, Ms Aileen Grace Ancheta Alberva. I lived in Dubai for eight years and I don’t have any savings. However, I invested in one unit from my eight-year income. We left Dubai in the middle of last year and in just six months, I already have a little boutique back home. I felt sad when we left Dubai as it was our second home. From Ms S. Mydl UAE Facebook comment

Difficult to return

W e left the UAE in 2013 with thoughts of coming back after a while. Unfortunately, we didn’t move back and I don’t regret it. I miss all my friends I left in Dubai. I think returning now is going to be even harder. From Mr Behzod Yunusaliyev UAE Facebook comment

A life choice

L eaving Dubai wasn’t easy. It’s my second home. I had been there for more than six years. I made a bunch of friends, I worked in one of the leading banks, but life is a choice and family comes first for me. I’m happy now here in the US. We will be back in the UAE to visit soon, God willing. From Mr Cel Gilliand Dubai Facebook comment

A simple and easy life

D ubai is a fantastic place to live. Whatever you earn is spent here only. Savings are really hard with an average salary when your family is also here. Dubai is an easy place to follow your dreams and that’s what we pay for! I love to be in Dubai. I love its conveniences available at every corner. Life is very simple and easy. From Mr Swati Mathur Rajpal UAE Facebook comment

Hope to go back

I left Dubai after 22 years, and I really enjoyed life there. It was so secure and pollution-free. It had such wellorganised traffic with people following lane rules while driving. It was really an awesome place to live and I would love to go back there again. From Ms Prema Pradeep UAE Facebook comment
