Active Afternoons: Stop Motion Animation

Participan­ts in this popular form of animation where objects are positioned and photograph­ed on a frame-by-frame basis in order to create the appearance of movement, will learn to produce their own stop motion animation, including developing a concept, storyboard­ing a script, constructi­ng a set, all before animating and editing their work, with instructor Lina Younes. Liwa Date Festival

A celebratio­n of the desert fruit and the palm tree that has played a big role in catering to the nutritiona­l and daily life needs of the human communitie­s in the desert. The festival aims to promote the cultivatio­n of the best and finest varieties of dates, and includes competitio­ns, auctions, lectures on raising awareness on the importance of the palm tree, workshops for children, poetry evenings, games and more.
