Ryan School owners barred from leaving the country

The Bombay High Court yesterday barred the owners of Ryan Group of Institutions from leaving the country.

The court ordered founder of Ryan International School Augustine Francis Pinto, managing director Grace Pinto, and chief executive officer (CEO) Ryan Pinto to submit their passports to the court.

The court also rejected their petition for transitory anticipatory bail.

The trio had approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail, fearing arrest in the case related to the murder of seven-year-old pupil Pradyuman Thakur at Ryan International School in Gurugram, Haryana.

Pradyuman was found dead inside a toilet at the school, with his throat slit, on September 8.

CCTV footage found

Later police arrested bus conductor Ashok Kumar who allegedly killed Pradyuman with a knife after the boy caught him performing an indecent act on himself.

On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court adjourned the hearing of the transitory anticipatory bail until the afternoon so that the intervention application of Pradyuman’s father could be filed and trustees could reply to the objections raised by the boy’s father.

Meanwhile, police yesterday found CCTV footage from the school which captured the boy’s last moments. The footage shows the child enter the washroom. Minutes later, bus conductor Kumar entered.

After a few minutes, a bleeding Pradyuman is seen crawling out. He collapsed near a door.
