Sharjah FDI taps fourth industrial revolution
Discussions to revolve around future of business and investment in Sharjah, the UAE and beyond
The fourth industrial revolution will take centre stage at a two-day conference starting today at the Sharjah FDI Forum.
The forum will lead topics such as the fourth industrial revolution, its impacts, challenges, and opportunities; the entrepreneurship and start-up ecosystem in Sharjah and the UAE; the policies and strategies that drive investments and competitiveness across the world.
“It is anticipated that the fourth industrial revolution will change the way we live forever, looking at its increasing influence in every aspect of our lives. However far-reaching its impacts may already be, the concept is fairly new with global economies trying to get to grips with it,” Marwan Bin Jasem Al Sarkal, the chief executive officer of Shurooq, told Gulf News by email.
“The Sharjah FDI Forum this year will function as a one-stopshop for answering your questions and for gaining expert insights into what the future of the world seeing unprecedented proliferation rapidly advanced technologies like AI [Artificial Intelligence], robotics, IoT [Internet of Things] and more may be. The two-day forum is set to help investors identify and capitalise on an array of prospects and markets from Sharjah and the UAE to the rest of the Mena [Middle East and North Africa] region,” he said.
More than 30 senior economists from the public and private sectors will participate in the event, and that speakers will also include senior officials from the UAE government and quasigovernment bodies.
“The forum is a brilliant opportunity to truly understand the future of business and investment in Sharjah, the UAE and beyond; and listen to a host of senior economists, chairpersons and CEOs from international bodies that have a considerable impact on local, regional and global economies,” said Mohammad Juma Al Musharrakh, Director of Invest in Sharjah.
The forum will also discuss innovation in governments and its objectives, besides giving live examples on Sharjah Government Networking, and also spell out what were the lessons learned from overseas. Blockchain technology too will take centre stage.
