European Union Youth Orchestra to perform at Dubai Opera

The famed European Union Youth Orchestra is gearing up to perform in the UAE. Under the guidance of conductor Vasily Petrenko, who was named Male Artist of the Year at the Classical Brit Awards, the group will perform at the Dubai Opera from April 12-13, 2018.

The show’s programme includes Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Rachmanino­ff’s Piano Concerto No 2.

Tickets for the performanc­e, which has enjoyed success in the form of soldout concerts in 43 countries, 177 cities and 224 venues, are now availble and start at Dh250.

Jasper Hope, chief executive at Dubai Opera, said: “These concerts by the European Union Youth Orchestra next April are a fantastic opportunit­y for UAE audiences to hear an outstandin­g ensemble perform two wonderful programmes and, thanks to a series of educationa­l workshops we’ll be running alongside the shows, also a once-in-a-lifetime chance for young musicians in the UAE to gain invaluable skills and expertise through cultural exchange with some of Europe’s musical stars of the future.”
