Mohammad: Youth skills vital to progress

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince receives presidents of Nepal and Mali ahead of Global Health Forum

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday met with Ebrahim Boubacar Keita, President of Mali.

Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was present.

During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammad and Keita discussed bilateral relations, and ways to develop them.

Keita is currently in the UAE to attend the Global Health Forum (GHF), which will be held in Abu Dhabi today.

The talks touched on the importance of the forum in coming up with ideas and transformi­ng them in health projects and programmes that can benefit needy nations and peoples, and boost their developmen­t.

Later, Shaikh Mohammad received Bidhya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal, who is also in the UAE to attend GHF.

Bilateral talks

They discussed bilateral relations, particular­ly in the field of economy, developmen­t and investment, and ways to support these relations.

Shaikh Mohammad and Bhandari also spoke about GHF, and the role of this event in encouragin­g internatio­nal efforts to contribute and support efforts being exerted to eradicate diseases that can be prevented.

Earlier, Shaikh Mohammad also received a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), the organisers of WorldSkill­s Abu Dhabi 2017.

Shaikh Mohammad welcomed the delegation headed by ACTVET Director-General Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi and praised the centre’s efforts which contribute­d to the success of WorldSkill­s Abu Dhabi.

Shaikh Mohammad reiterated the UAE’s interest and the special attention it pays to such events, which help discover talent and foster the spirit of innovation and competitio­n among young people in the fields of science, technology and knowledge. He added that focusing on boosting peoples skills is at the centre of the country’s developmen­tal policies and projects, as they are the most valuable resource.
