Lewis Hamilton has admitted at being “blown away” by the guard of honour accorded to him when the world champion-elect returned to the team base in the UK on Monday.

“This is a very emotional day. I was not expecting this, thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Today is something that I will never forget, turning up at the front gate of the factory and seeing everyone out on the street to welcome me — I’m blown away,” Hamilton said.

Hamilton clinched his fourth Drivers’ Championship in Mexico at the end of October.
