Large number of tourists flock to lake resort in Punjab
Destination is famous for its historical garden, Takh-e-Babri, and peacocks that roam free in the area
The Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) Lake View Resort at Kallar Kahaar, which has attracted a large number of tourists, is an ideally located accommodation and picnic spot on the shores of a picturesque lake.
A TDCP official told APP that the resort is only few minutes drive from the Kallar Kahar M-2 Motorway Interchange.
He said that Kallar Kahaar is famous for its historical garden, Takht-e-Babri, and free-strolling peacocks.
He said the resort provides a beautiful Lakeview picnic opportunities and accommodation.
The official added that the TDCP organises group and family tours with complete briefings, food and transport arrangements to Kallar Kahaar and the surrounding attractions — Khewra Salt mines, Ketas Temples, Soon Valley, and the like. According to him, the TDCP is playing a vital role in the promotion of the tourism industry by running several resorts and motels throughout Punjab province and providing comprehensive tourist services through Tourist Information Centres and Tour Packages.
He said that the TDCP is working with the aim to develop and promote tourism by providing accommodation, food, entertainment, amusement, public amenities and other services including informative literature to the tourists.
“We also intend to exploit the great potential of our cultural, scenic and religious tourism to create employment, generate revenues, reduce poverty, bring equitable distribution of benefits [while] building image of the country” he said.
