UAE leaders paid tribute to mothers across the world on the occasion of Mother’s Day yesterday. A heartwarming video posted on the official page of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shows him visiting Emirati widow Fatima Ebrahim Bin Sulaiman and thanking her for all the good work she has done.
The widow, who is surprised by the Vice-President’s visit, tells Shaikh Mohammad that it’s a big honour for her to be visited by him, while he replies that it was his honour meeting her.
The video ends with Shaikh Mohammad’s message to all mothers: “Words are not enough to describe the purity of your hearts, the greatness of your sacrifices and the amount of love you placed in this world. Happy Mother’s Day,” he says.
In a tweet, Shaikh Mohammad said: “On the occasion of Mother’s Day, I was happy to visit Fatima Ebrahim Bin Sulaiman, the widow of Obaid Al Helo. An Emirati mother who not only dedicated herself to her family, but also to the community through constant and unlimited work of giving.”
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces also tweeted on the occasion.
“For us, every day is a day to celebrate mothers for they are an eternal source of giving. We are proud of their role in the family, community and nation, and we pray for their happiness,” he wrote.
