Al Hajiri orders timebound completion of Mohammad Bin Rashid Library project
The new civic chief of Dubai has instructed officials and companies involved to complete the Mohammad Bin Rashid Library project, which is scheduled to open this year, in a timebound manner.
Dawood Al Hajiri, the recently appointed directorgeneral of Dubai Municipality, stressed the need to comply with the deadline specified, according to the plans approved by the municipality when signing the technical and architectural contract, said a press release.
The civic chief said this during an inspection visit to see the progress of work and the stage reached by the departments concerned and the contractor in charge of implementing the project.
Al Hajiri stressed the importance of the project, which is considered a modern architectural landmark that will be added to the emirate’s unique and distinct features.
The project supervised by the municipality is coming up in a total area of about 66,000 square metres in the Jaddaf area on Dubai Creek.
Al Hajiri was accompanied by Marwan Al Mohammad, director of General Projects Department, and a number of officials, engineers, project owners and executing companies. He reviewed the details of the project, the method of implementation at the site and samples of the main materials used in the project. He discussed some technical issues.

The Mohammad Bin Rashid Library project is unique and distinguished in terms of size and shape. The library is also poised to become a forum for the mingling of cultures through services, which will be provided by the library such as live shows of documentaries and lectures from all over the world.
The huge building will host many cultural and knowledge events and art exhibitions, for which the latest technologies will be used. It will also serve as a cultural and scientific movement in the country and a catalyst for reading and scientific research and will support writing books, translation works and publishing.
