The world’s first Warner Bros indoor theme park will officially open in Abu Dhabi on July 25, with visitors getting the chance to experience 29 themed rides and daily live shows featuring their favourite television and cartoon characters.

The indoor theme park — Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi — is located on Yas Island, covering 1.65 million square feet, and costing $1 billion to construct.

The theme park is divided into six different areas visitors can walk through, with each section taking inspiration from popular Warner Bros characters and shows.

As visitors walk through areas like Gotham City from Batman, or Metropolis from Superman, or even Bedrock from The Flintstones, they will get to feel the real-life experience of being in those worlds they have so often seen on their television screens.

“The launch of Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi is yet another milestone in the emirate’s journey to further enrich its tourism offering, and help establish it as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations,” said Mohammad Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi, and chairman of Miral, the group that partnered with Warner Bros to launch this theme park.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Za’abi, chief executive officer at Miral, said 27 out of the 29 rides would be open to everyone, with only two of them having height restrictions.

“We will have nine different live shows everyday, and 56 characters from Warner Bros inside,” he said.
