Human Appeal International (HAI) launched its Ramadan campaign, ‘Make Them Happy’, in Ajman on Sunday, along with a new smart system to collect donations.

The campaign aims to raise Dh57.5 million for charity projects, targeting a revenue growth of 23 per cent over last year. Around Dh20 million will be given as Zakat and Dh5 million will be given to orphans and families in need.

HAI unveiled the strategies to cover all the four main projects during Ramadan — Zakat Al Fitr, Eid clothes, Iftar and Food donation.

Various health, education and social development projects have been allocated Dh25 million from the target revenue, while Dh4 million will be given for Iftar.

Around Dh1 million is allocated for Eid clothes, Dh2 million for Zakat Al Fitr and Dh500,000 for Food donation.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Abdullah Bin Sultan Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Board of Trustees, Member of Federal National Council, said charitable projects implemented during 2017 amounted to Dh194 million, while Ramadan campaigns amounted to Dh46.5 million.

The HAI said the new online donation system will provide transparency by way of monitoring, auditing and administrative supervising of operations as well as financial reports showing the fund balances at any time.
