UAE, Austria look set to boost economic and tourism ties

MOHAMMAD HOLDS EXTENSIVE TALKS WITH AUSTRIAN CHANCELLOR

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday held talks with the Austrian Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, who is on an official visit to the country.

Shaikh Mohammad and the Austrian Chancellor discussed bilateral relations and ways to widen scopes of cooperatio­n in various fields. They also discussed a number of regional and internatio­nal issues of mutual concern.

The talks touched on commercial, economic, tourism and cultural fields.

Shaikh Mohammad said that the UAE-Austria relations are unique and rest on a long history of cooperatio­n and understand­ing of common interests since the establishm­ent of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries in 1974.

Shaikh Mohammad added that the state-level visits between the two countries reflect the common interest of their leaders to develop and push forward their relations.

“The UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen to strengthen its partnershi­ps with friendly countries in the world, particular­ly Austria. This comes within the framework of its policies of diversifyi­ng its economy and building a knowledge-based economy as well as attracting foreign investment.” ■
