One pillar looming over state, Sharif says

-

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has charged that the state has come to be overshadowed by a single pillar. The Pakistan Muslim LeagueNawaz’s (PML-N) fight, he said, is not with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) or the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) but with invisible creatures and aliens.

The PML-N leader, while talking to media representatives yesterday, said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) maintained that it was battling graft across the country but was giving immunity to some in Sindh. Secrets of the 2014 sit-ins would also come to light, he said. “Aliens are trying to bring the parliament of their sweet will. This is not the era of Mughal monarchs. Every state has three pillars and one pillar occupied the state.”

News bungle

Sharif said that the statement by Zardari was broadcast on different channels and found its way into newspapers as breaking news. If Zardari had not given any statement, then at whose behest was it aired as breaking news, he asked. “I want to ask today where the writ of parliament and government is. How it was legal to disqualify me from presidentship of party,” he added.

The country was staring at isolation, he said. “We have to demonstrate sanity. The country will not progress like this. The founders of Pakistan will have not thought about any thing except rule of law.”
