Ocean Fair to meet G Force in final

Ocean Fair Internatio­nal (OFI) and G Force will clash for the seventh Anchor Marine Cup title. In the semifinals, held at the Ocean Fair Sports Club Grounds in Dubai Investment Park, OFI defeated Wombats by 113 runs, while in the other semi-final, G Force downed ENBD by six wickets.

Batting first, OFI made 253 for 3 in 20 overs. Hafeez Afridi hit a quick 57, supported by Ram Narine, who also chipped in with 51 runs. Waheed then added the finishing touch with a stunning 71 runs off just 15 balls with nine sixes. Bilal Idrees bagged 2 wickets for 33 runs.

Chasing the target, Wombats could muster only 140 runs in 20 overs. M. Haroon scored 56 with support from S. Rahul, who scored 28. Ram Narine was the pick of the bowlers bagging 4 for 25, with S. Yaqoob and M. Farhad chipping in with three and two wickets respective­ly. Narine won the man of the match award for his all-round performanc­e.

Second semis

In the second semi-final, ENBD scored 121 in 19 overs. Anuj Thakur top-scored with 43 runs, supported by Ranjith Nair who hit 31 runs. Marlon Malcolm produced a fine spell of four wickets for only nine runs.

G Force reached the target in 17 overs for the loss of four wickets. Agam Shah top-scored with 30 runs, supported by Clive Alphonso (24) and Tarun Kumar (22). Malcolm’s four-wicket spell won him the man of the match award.

G Force Academy had beaten Roaring Lions by 8 wickets in an earlier match before reaching the semi-final through Clive Alfonso’s all-round show with three wickets and an unbeaten 36.
