Is she fit for this honour?

- By Shemeem K.

How can the Bollywood film industry reach such an all-time low in terms of its standard? Actress Sunny Leone is being offered a biopic. She is an incredibly beautiful woman and her hard work or steadfast attitude has managed to take her far. Hats off to her. However, is she really fit to have a biopic made on her life? India has got many astonishingly talented figures in different facets, numerous great personalities with their unimaginable ability, perseverance, resolute and aptitude, as compared to Leone, and she would figure nowhere in that league. Many actors from yesteryear have left a mark in the minds of viewers and given Indian cinema a place in the world and managed to carve India’s name in golden letters in many world beauty contests too. The list is endless. If the director wants to talk about the struggles of life, Leone and the crew members should visit the underbelly of India, the rural part of the country and see the lives of village people, in the heart of the villages where real life exists. I don’t think someone who was born and brought up in Europe, enjoying at least three satiating meals a day, who has food on the table, and then ends up being an actor and makes her way to Bollywood is fit for a biopic. Seeing the progress of the quality of Indian films and its downfall, all our forefathers who were a part of great films must be turning in their graves after hearing this news.
