Al Zahia launches new neighbourhood
Sharjah company plans community where residents get pedestrian access to mega mall
Want to walk across to the next door shopping mall? Then the latest neighbourhood launch at the Al Zahia community in Sharjah will make that happen.
Its Uptown Al Zahia cluster will have units ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments and a host of lifestyle and entertainment options with “direct pedestrian access to the City Centre Al Zahia”, a Dh2.6 billion mall scheduled to open in 2020.
“Uptown Al Zahia offers a unique place to live, work, and play,” said Shadi Al Azzeh, Project Head, Al Zahia, at Majid Al Futtaim — Communities.
On completion in 2022, Uptown Al Zahia will be home to more than 700 families. It is located on University City Road and minutes from Sharjah International Airport and the SAIF Zone.
The Uptown Al Zahia will feature two mini-clusters — the “Woroud” and “Zohour”. The first release features Woroud 1, one of five residential buildings within the cluster, offering studios and one-bedroom apartments.
Al Zahia itself is scheduled for completion in 2023, by which time it expects to be home to more than 12,000 residents across 2,270 villas, town houses and apartments. Structured in the form of eight individually designed neighbourhoods, Al Zahia features six themed community parks. The first residents have already started living there and more handovers scheduled for later this year.
“We have structured six payment plans, allowing buyers to pick up homes from Dh3,500 a month,” said Al Azzeh. “What we launched to date represents only 50 per cent of the overall residential options.”
Sharjah continues to record a steady stream of off-plan releases so far this year from its developers. Market feedback suggests that demand continues to maintain an upbeat tempo, helped by developers who have kept prices within a tight range and backed by multiple payment options.
