Abu Dhabi features prominently in Salman Khan’s new action thriller, Race 3, the trailer of which was revealed by the stars in Mumbai on Tuesday.

The trailer features a series of adrenaline packed stunts and bombastic dialogues with Khan leading the charge against the backdrop of some of the UAE capital’s snazziest locations. You get to see the superstar against the Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi and cars exploding at the Liwa Desert.

The trailer for the film, directed by Remo D’Souza, also features souped-up cars racing on the desert roads and Khan firing from all his cylinders armed with fancy gadgets.

Khan had returned to Abu Dhabi for more than three weeks to work on the action sequences of Race 3, the latest instalment in a hit franchise that has rich people who betray, double-cross and deceive people for a living.

“Our shoot went seamlessly thanks to the incredible support of organisations such as twofour54, Abu Dhabi Film Commission and, of course, the UAE Armed Forces, without whom we would never have been able to create such highoctane action sequences,” said D’Souza in a statement.

The trailer shows its primary cast indulging in cheesy lines.

“Who needs enemies when you have a family?” is one of the phrases from the upcoming film, which will also likely be powered by feuds within a billionaire dynasty.

The characters are notorious for dialogues that are threats against their rivals. Race 3 also stars Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem.

Hollywood action director Tom Struthers and Indian action director Anil Arasu were on call to pull off the stunts.

Race 3 will release in India on June 15. Bollywood films traditionally release a day earlier in the UAE.
