The charity campaign launched by Emirates Red Crescent, aims to raise Dh500 million this year towards humanitari­an aid for the famine-hit country. Shoppers are encouraged to bring newly purchased or unused donations in the form of dry food, homeware, footwear, body care products, children’s essentials, or clothing suitable for people of all ages. At Deerfields Mall. Patisserie La Brioche will donate Dh1 for each French pastry sold at the mall branch. Alternativ­ely, cash donations can be made too.

German Veterinary Clinic Open Day

The German Veterinary Clinic (GVC) in Khalifa City A, will celebrate 10 years of caring for furry friends with a range of giveaways, vouchers for pet health treatments such as vaccinatio­ns, laser therapy and pet grooming. Four-legged guests will also receive gifts from pet food company Royal Canin. Their human owners have the opportunit­y to receive tickets for AquaFun and dining vouchers. Recitals of the Holy Quran

The Dubai Holy Quran Radio has new special programmes for Ramadan, which start on the first day of Ramadan. Airing across the UAE at a frequency of 91.4FM. A series of recitals of one chapter of the Holy Quran will happen at various intervals, five times a day to give listeners options to complete the Holy Quran within a month. Full section before suhoor by Abu Bakr Al Shatri at 3am; dawn voice reader Rami Dais at 4am, the morning closing reciter Abdullah Basqar at 7am; the afternoon reading by Suhail Yassin at 3pm, and before the breaking of the fast Quran recitation by Jamaan Al-Osaimi, at 6pm. Lectures by Abdullah Moosa and Osama Al Lala and the recitation of the holy Quran by the Imam and lecturer Muhammad Al Shaarawi have also been added.
