A special time for everyone

Ramadan is a special month for Muslims worldwide, and here are some reasons why we look forward to it. During the holy month, knowing that all Muslims around the world are fasting gives you a special feeling of unity.

Going home early from work makes you want to spend more time with friends and family. Friends and Family get together during iftar and it is an event awaited for the entire year.

There are traditional sweets and food made at the different Ramadan bazaars and the offers cannot be missed by UAE residents. The malls and supermarkets during Ramadan have offers, especially closer to Eid.

Muslim families sometimes decorate their homes during Ramadan and Eid, and the entire family is involved in preparations of suhour and iftar meals.

‘Special clothes’

We often only think of clothes for Eid, but buying comfortable clothes for prayer is a great way to motivate younger children to put on their ‘special clothes’ for Ramadan and go to the mosque for prayers.

Visiting a new mosque for prayers, or occasionally visiting a different mosque from the one you normally go to is a fun way to meet new Muslim families and get to know others in your community.

It is unimaginable how refreshing a glass of cold water feel or how sweet a ‘Laban’ tastes if you have been deprived of water and food from the moment the sun rose. For millions of Muslims around the world, that is the satisfaction they feel when they sit down for iftar during the holy month of Ramadan.
