RAMADAN NIGHTS BY DISH

Where: Warehouse Four, Al Quoz, Dubai. What: The pop-up restaurant returns this year with a brand new menu. Diners can ease into their iftar with a selection of light starters including roasted garlic hummus, grilled flat bread with burnt eggplant and spiced carrot, lentil and saffron soup. Signature main courses include slow braised lamb shoulder in Middle Eastern spices, corn-fed chicken koftas and cured sea bass served with a freekha tabbouleh. There’s also a vegetarian menu. Timing: From sunset to 9.30pm. Price: Dh195 per person.

DUBAI OPERA

Where: Downtown Dubai.

What: The auditorium of this cultural landmark has been completely changed into a flat floor for Ramadan with bespoke venue dressing and decoration­s. The award-winning restaurant, Sean Connolly at Dubai Opera, will provide the cuisine for the iftar with the menu rotating each night. Special dishes include sustainabl­e hammour prepared in a shakshuka style, slow-cooked beef cheek, whole roast duck and chicken and a trio of changing biryanis. Timing: From sunset until 9.30pm.

Price: Dh250 per person. 50 per cent off for children between six and 11. Kids under six dine for free.

MISS TESS

Where: Taj Dubai.

What: The Asian restaurant has created a menu of street food inspired dishes for a non-traditiona­l iftar experience. Diners can expect Korean, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisines, including Thai prawn cake served with a sweet plum sauce, or a lightly battered fried chicken wings with sweet chilli sauce.

Timing: From 6pm until late.

Price: Dh158 per person.

FLAVOURS

Where: Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort.

What: Classic favourites will be the focus at this restaurant, but with Arabic, Asian and Indian delicacies. Featured dishes include okra with lamb, samke harra (baked fish in tahini sauce), lamb ouzi, kung pao chicken, chicken siu mai (dim sum), chicken satay and Goan fish curry.

Timing: From sunset until 9pm. Price: Dh174 per person. Dh87 for children between six and 12 years. Kids below six eat free.

DIFC RAMADAN MAJLIS

Where: DIFC, Dubai.

What: The Dubai Internatio­nal Financial Centre (DIFC) and the Ritz Carlton DIFC has partnered again this year for this majlis set in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Food offerings include 16 live cooking stations and traditiona­l offerings, but with inspiratio­ns from Asia, India, Turkey, Lebanon as well as Arabic and American delicacies.

Timing: Sunset until 8.30pm. Price: Dh199 + VAT per person. 50 per cent off for children between six and 12. Kids below six dine for free.
