Dh10m support for home maintenanc­e

Masaai Al Khair scheme will provide renovation support to social security beneficiar­ies

Anew initiative called ‘Masaai Al Khair’ will provide home maintenanc­e and renovation support to social security beneficiar­ies and low-income families in Dubai from a fund of Dh10 million, it was announced yesterday.

In line with the Year of Zayed and in celebratio­n of Zayed Humanitari­an Work Day, the Ministry of Community Developmen­t, in collaborat­ion with Dubai Holding, announced the launch. Dubai Municipali­ty will take on the evaluation of the residentia­l units and technical execution of the project.

The launch of Masaai Al Khair marks Zayed Humanitari­an Work Day, held annually on the 19th day of the Ramadan (today this year), under the slogan ‘Love and Loyalty for Generous Zayed’.

Under the agreement, the ministry will identify social security beneficiar­ies and low-income families in Dubai. Each case will undergo a technical assessment, followed by refurbishm­ent works by Dubai Municipali­ty.

Hessa Bint Eisa Bu Humaid, Minister of Community Developmen­t, said: “Masaai Al Khair is a prime example of a public-private partnershi­p that promotes social responsibi­lity and solidarity as core ■ values in the UAE society, strengthen­s cohesive communitie­s, and motivates citizens and residents to actively contribute to the country’s developmen­t.”

Abdullah Al Habbai, chairman of Dubai Holding, said: “This partnershi­p reflects our commitment to the Year of Zayed, and we are honoured to collaborat­e with the ministry to launch this important initiative.”

Dawood Abdul Rahman Al Hajiri, director-general of Dubai Municipali­ty, said: “This initiative is a live example of the vital role played by private-public partnershi­ps in building a sustainabl­e future for our nation. Dubai Municipali­ty continues to strive to be at the forefront of organisati­ons contributi­ng to strengthen­ing human ties across all social strata.”

Home maintenanc­e work will be undertaken in the following areas: Al Bada, Abu Hail, Al Jafilia, Al Hamriya, Al Rashidiya, Al Barsha 2, Al Safa, Al Twar, Al Ghusais, Al Satwa, Jumeirah, Al Quoz, Muhaisnah, Al Mizhar, Al Manara, Al Nahda, Al Waheda, Al Warqa’a, Al Wasl, Hatta, Oud Al Mutaina and Nad Al Hammar.
