Minister harassed after breach of security
Union Minister Anupriya Patel was harassed in Uttar Pradesh (UP) after three people breached her security.
The suspects hurled indecent comments towards her and had altercations with her security staff, officials said.
According to police the three — an ayurvedic doctor, a homeopathic doctor and a medical representative — breached the security of Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Patel while her motorcade was on way to Babatpur airport in Varanasi on Monday night.
Patel was returning after attending a public programme at Mirzapur.
The accused were in an inebriated condition and driving an unregistered SUV. They tried to overtake the minister’s car despite a warning by her security personnel.
“The incident took place last night when the accused travelling in a car without number plate tried to overtake the cavalcade of Minister Anupriya Patel. The accused have been identified as Dr Vipin Singh, Ashutosh Maurya and Basudev Mishra, all hailing from Bhadohi district,” Varanasi Senior Superintendent of Police R.K. Bhardwaj said.
