UAE, India explore strategic partnership
Modi, Abdullah discuss bilateral relations and investment plans in refining industry
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday received Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and his delegation. They discussed avenues of cooperation and ways to boost them in various sectors in a manner that realises the aspirations of both nations and peoples.
Shaikh Abdullah and Modi explored prospects and opportunities for expanding the strategic relations between the UAE and India in the field of energy, especially partnerships and investment plans offered by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) for refining and petrochemical expansion as well as the growing demand for its products in India.
They also exchanged views about the latest regional and international developments. Modi welcomed Shaikh Abdullah’s visit to New Delhi and expressed his hope that it would further India-UAE ties of cooperation and friendship.
Shaikh Abdullah highlighted that the strategic relations between the two countries experienced a significant paradigm shift in all areas over the past years.
He praised the Indian community’s contributions to the country. Shaikh Abdullah stressed that the Indian community enjoys respect and appreciation by the UAE government and people as they represents the hallmarks of strengthening relations between the two countries.
