Ali Zafar charms at ‘Teefa’ music launch
Shaad Ali who had directed Zafar in ‘Kill Dil’ flew in especially for the occasion
Usman Ghafoor Trust Ali Zafar to turn an ordinary occasion into a grand affair, without making the whole exercise appear absurd. This was obvious recently at the music launch of Teefa In Trouble, Zafar’s much-awaited Pakistani film debut, in his hometown Lahore.
The actormusician — and now movie producer — ensured that it became a lot more than just an album-unveiling routine, punctuated by odd speeches by the artists.
For one thing, an array of celebrities showed up at the event including fashion designers HSY and Kamiar Rokini, pop singers Hadiqa Kiani, Amanat Ali, and Rabi Peerzada, actors Resham and Ayesha Sana, and last but not the least, heartthrob Fawad Khan. Of course, leading the pack was the film’s main faces — Maya Ali and Zafar, as well as the supporting cast Asma Abbas, Nayyar Ijaz, and Marhoom Ahmad Bilal whose ‘Billu Butt’ is proving to be a standout character in the movie trailers. Perhaps, the biggest surprise of the night was the presence of noted Shaad Ali. Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar and Maya Ali at the music launch of ‘Teefa in Trouble’. Bollywood writer-director Shaad Ali who had also directed Zafar in Kill Dil (2014). It was revealed that he had flown in especially for the occasion.
Earlier this month, Zafar had stumped his worst critics by announcing what he called a “historic partnership” with India’s Yash Raj Films, for the international distribution of Teefa. He revealed that it will be the first Pakistani film to be released in 25 countries of the world. Teefa In Trouble is set to release in the UAE on July 19.
