UAE offers medical care in India for 74 injured Yemenis

COMMITTEES SET UP TO SUPPORT PEOPLE INJURED IN ATTACKS BY AL HOUTHI MILITIAS

-

Seventy-four Yemenis were flown to India to receive treatment for their injuries at the expense of the UAE. The patients’ injuries were caused by attacks carried out by the Iranian-backed Al Houthi militias.

The UAE Embassy has already completed the necessary preparations to receive the patients and transport them to the hospitals so that they can receive the highest standard of treatment of India.

The embassy also established committees to follow up, supervise and communicate with the patients to ensure that all their needs are being met.

The gesture comes following the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The humanitarian initiative falls within the framework of the UAE leadership’s attention to the people of Yemen, to alleviate their suffering and improve their humanitarian conditions, and also support them in facing the crimes perpetrated against them by the militias affiliated to Iran.

The Yemeni patients hailed the UAE’s support and the humanitarian gesture of the UAE’s leadership and people. They emphasised that Shaikh Khalifa and people of the UAE are no strangers to such acts of generosity.

The UAE earlier carried out similar initiatives. Under the supervision of the Emirates Red Crescent, the country treated 1,500 injured Yemenis in Jordan, Sudan and India, and expenses were covered for persons accompanying the patients.

The UAE also dispatched medical and relief convoys to support the people of Yemen, providing all forms of development aid that can help ease the suffering of Yemenis.

The UAE’s humanitarian and relief programme delivers vital aid that includes food, medicine and medical equipment to improve the humanitarian and health conditions in Yemen, in addition to coordinating and cooperating with regional and international humanitarian organisations that are currently in Yemen.
