The swapping of seats on a US flight led to the hilarious live-streaming of a budding romance, and social media users could not get enough of it.

When Twitter user Rosey Blair (@roseybeeme) realised she was not seated next to her boyfriend on a flight to Dallas, US, she asked a woman to switch seats with her. She agreed, and they joked that her new seat partner could become the love of her life.

What happened next could compete with TV reality shows!

A “hunky” man sat down next to the woman, according to Blair, and the pair instantly hit it off. Thrilled with the possibility of her joke turning into reality, Blair began to discretely live-stream what was happening on Instagram. She later posted the entire thread on Twitter, as well.

She wrote: “Guess what … they have been talking non-stop since we took off. They’re both personal trainers. They have touched arms a few times. They are vegetarians.” Sneaky camerawork ensued, with Blair drawing a heart around the mystery pair’s touching elbows. Hundreds of people began following the story, with Blair’s updates keeping them engrossed. Tweep @SirenofBrixton wrote: “Best inflight entertainment ever!”

As time passed, Blair spotted the pair sharing a cheese board, following each other on Instagram and even talking about what they wanted for their future — including marriage and children.

Once the flight landed and they exited the plane, Blair posted a picture of the couple leaving together, followed by her own ‘happy dance’.

But while she kept their identities private throughout the broadcast, even blacking out their faces at times, social media users had a meltdown when the ‘hunky’ man got wind of Blair’s antics on Twitter, and responded to her. He was revealed as 30-year-old former professional footballer Euan Holden.

@euanholden wrote to Blair through a direct message, which he gave her permission to display: “My friend just sent me your Twitter feed, hilarious. I knew you were taking a picture at the end of the flight. I even said to her!”
