Interior ministry launches updated version of app

Users can now use fingerprint or face recognition to access MOI UAE app

The Ministry of Interior has launched a new version of its MOI UAE app that offers users 50 government services, including traffic, police and civil defence.

Brigadier General Hussain Ahmad Al Harthy, chairman of the MOI Smart Services and Artificial Intelligence Council, said the app has been revamped with a new multi-mode design and a more enhanced user experience.

Col Faisal Mohammad Ali Al Shammari, member and general secretary of the MOI Smart Services and Artificial Intelligence Council, and director of the Governance Department, said the app has several features including enhanced private security, with the user being able to access the app by their fingerprint or face recognition.

He added that the application will provide users with their data and statistics on their road violations and traffic accidents, vehicle license and ownership, sponsors’ data, as well as their identification papers.

Al Shammari pointed out that the new application is also linked to the portal of the Government of the UAE ‘Smart Pass’, which enables its users to benefit from the services provided by the portal without the need to make a new entry to the portal.

He also said that the app allows users to access the services and various social networking platforms of the MOI, which will include its latest news and updates.
