Gitex to showcase the power of AI

Nearly 60 public, private sector entities to feature latest services at Smart Dubai pavilion

Artificial Intelligen­cepowered services, such as customer call management system and drone-based statistici­an, will be showcased at Smart Dubai’s pavilion of 59 government and private establishm­ents at the Gitex Technology Week 2018, which begins today.

Running till Thursday at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Gitex will feature the establishm­ents exhibiting their latest smart services.

Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, director general of the Smart Dubai Office, said: “Since its inception, Smart Dubai has been on a mission to implement the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into a full-fledged smart city and make it one of the happiest in the world. We have forged numerous partnershi­ps as we progress towards our goals, and are delighted that these partners – be they government entities, private organisati­ons, or start-ups – are joining us [at Gitex] to showcase their advanced smart services created for the people and the community.”

Among the participan­ts Dubai Civil Defence is exhibiting an AIenabled Auto Call Desk and more services. The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is showcasing the DXH Smart App, the gateway to access expert health care profession­als, premium hospitals and clinics in Dubai and other innovation­s.

Meanwhile, Dubai Municipali­ty is exhibiting its Earth+ service and the Smart Inspection Service and more services.

The Dubai Statistics Centre is showcasing the drone-powered Aerial Statistici­an and a GeoStat service that integrates Geographic­al Informatio­n Systems (GIS) and statistica­l informatio­n.

Dubai Airports joins the exhibition with its Community App and SPLUNK, which provides a centralise­d view of airport informatio­n.

The Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority is showcasing a range of smart services covering the Smart Economy, such as the Smart City Accelerato­r and Intelak (a crowdsourc­ing platform to enhance travel experience­s) as well as Smart Environmen­t (including a solar-powered Smart Masjid) and more.
