Scattered showers expected in some areas

Light rainfall is expected in several areas of the UAE this week as cloudiness forms across the country. In a five-day weather forecast, the National Centre of Meteorolog­y (NCM) said there could be light rain in parts of the UAE’s western and eastern regions by tomorrow afternoon.

On Sunday night, Al Ain received scattered rainfall and more is expected in the coming days. The weather today will be partly cloudy and hazy at times with maximum temperatur­es expected to hover between 32 degrees Celsius and 37C in coastal areas, 35C-40C in internal areas and 26C-32C in the mountain region.

Humidity will reach up to 80 per cent in coastal areas, 75 per cent in internal areas and 70 per cent in the mountain region.

From tomorrow till Friday, the UAE will receive southeaste­rly to northeaste­rly winds blowing at 20-30 km/h, which may reach up to 40 km/h at times, blowing dust and sand in open areas.

The sea will be calm to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

Traffic officials in Abu Dhabi warned motorists to use fog lights when driving early in the morning.
