2,417 Filipinos used amnesty since August 1

More

than 2,000 undocumented Filipinos have gone back home after availing of the amnesty since August 1.

Philippine Consul-General Paul Raymund Cortes said as many as 2,417 Filipinos, who stayed illegally in the UAE, have been sent home since August 1.

Around 3,140 Filipinos have applied for passport renewal to use the six-month jobseeker’s visa while others already had job offers waiting for them.

Another 1,203 Filipinos applied for ‘lost passport’ so they could rectify their visa status. (Staff Report)
