Lakers sign veteran centre Tyson

Chandler is officially a Laker. The veteran centre signed with the Lakers on Tuesday, after the 48-hour period during which a team could have claimed him off waivers passed. Chandler was waived after he reached a buyout deal with the Phoenix. He was owed $13.5 million (Dh49.5 million) in the final year of a four-year contract.

Chandler adds depth at centre, a position at which they have desperately needed it to back-up JaVale McGee, who is in his 11th season. “We are excited that Tyson will bring championshiplevel experience to our Lakers team,” Pelinka said. (LAT)
