Nasma: Beachfront relaxation at its best

- By Manjusha Radhakrishnan, Chief Reporter

When was the last time you sat on a swing and felt the wind from the ocean on your face? While we cannot physically prompt you to head outdoors and sample the lush weather in the UAE right now, the new al fresco lounge Nasma Beachfront Bar at Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas could nudge you in that direction.

Everything about this relaxed lounge screams ‘just relax’.

Its whimsical tropical decor and relaxed vibe propels you to unwind. Something about the sea and the swings for adults make you forget about life and its trials.

While they had me at their giant swings near the bar counters, the food is equally fresh and wholesome.

During its opening recently, the guests were welcomed by perennially-smiling and warm staff and a coconut water drink.

The bar food, which is perfect for sharing with a group or between a couple, boded well with the herb-infused mocktails on offer.

The tuna ceviche with the freshest slivers of seafood and the salmon quiche grabbed our attention the most. The ceviche felt good for the waistline too. The seafront tropical haven also had hammocks and bean bags placed at strategic corners.

It’s one of those casual yet vibrant places that compels you to relax in the most unintrusive manner. So all you need to do is grab a hammock or a private cabana and catch up with a sundowner.

There’s also a range of sushi and antipasti on the menu to choose from.

After chilling out at the Nasma Beachfront, you could also head to the Roof Lounge & Bar upstairs to drink in the views of sunset. While Nasma Beachfront Bar exudes a casual vibe, this one is snazzier.
