Indulge yourself at Ewaan

Go from relaxed Arabian-style brunch to a lounge by the Dubai Fountain in one go

Party brunches are a great way to let off steam after a long week. Sometimes, however, what you need is not a wild time out, but a day out with friends where you can talk, laugh and indulge in some delicious food and beverages. Ewaan at Palace Downtown Dubai is offering just that with its 1,001 Flavours Brunch and the newly opened Buhayra Lounge.

Ewaan is a luxurious Arabianthemed venue that is decorated like something out of an interior designer’s dream. It’s right by a huge window overlooking the pool, so there’s lots of natural light, making the rich interiors stand out. The restaurant has a family atmosphere that is casual but still feels upscale.

The brunch is your standard smorgasbord of every delicious thing you can think of – meat and seafood sizzling on a live grill station, mounds of fresh salads, steaming pots of rich curries, and even trays of dim sum. This is just a peek into what’s on offer, as there were stations I didn’t even reach because I was so full from second portions of all my favourites. The Arabic dishes and the grilled meats stole the show for me. Starters such as kibbeh and sambousek were all flavourful, fresh and hot out of the oven, while the meats were all seasoned perfectly and cooked just right.

The stars of the brunch were the service staff who were attentive and quick to respond to requests, but also not overbearing, allowing me and my dining partners to enjoy each other’s company.

After eating to our heart’s content, we stepped outdoors into the new Buhayra Lounge, which I’m sure will be packed as the weather cools down. The views from the lounge are unmatched, mostly because you can see different Dubai attractions depending on where in the lounge you’re sitting. Pick from views of the Dubai Opera, The Dubai Fountain, The Burj Khalifa, the city scape, or simply the hotel pool, sit back in some comfy chairs and sip on your favourite drink.
