Enjoying the serene views, facilities, and good weather, visitors to Corniche Park say the park fully deserves its recognition as the world’s best public park, an accolade it received last week from the UKbased Green Flag Organisation.

The park was named the best in the world based on its reviews by the public, with the park scoring high on all of the standards placed by the Green Flag Organisation in order to receive the award. These criteria include visitor reception, public hygiene and maintenance, sustainability, conservation of nature and tradition.

“It’s a very good park to visit with your friends and family. The park is very clean and well maintained, it looks nice and is also very safe,” said Moutaz Al Hameed, a Syrian resident who was visiting the park with his wife and young son.

“The facilities they have for the children are also very good, my son always has fun when visiting. Coming to Corniche Park is a good way of keeping him active and outdoor, the play area they have for the children makes them happy,” he added.

Mahmoud Mansoor, a Syrian family friend who was also visiting the park with his wife and two children shared the same sentiments. “We come to Corniche Park often. It’s family-friendly, safe, clean and has ■ good play areas for children.”

Filipino couple Abigail Pampanga and her husband Mark John Pampanga visited Corniche Park with their daughter for the first time.

“The park is very childfriendly and is also nice for adults, I can see that it’s very well maintained and there are a lot of good places to sit and relax while watching over your child,” Abigail said.

Her husband Mark added: “We’re glad we found the park. It’s a nice and safe place and we will be coming back again for sure. As a family you always want to go to a park that is clean, secure, and has facilities for everyone.” ■
