31 winners of Arab Social Media Influencers awards
Queen Rania Al Abdullah, who won the Personality of the Year Award, was among 31 social media influencers and organisations, honoured at the Arab Social Media Influencers awards ceremony yesterday in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, presented the awards to the winners.
The awards were split into two categories, one for individuals, and another for institutions.
Abdul Qader Mosahel,
Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, won in the politics category for individuals. Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al Saud,
deputy of development and planning for the General Sports Authority in Saudi Arabia, won the award in the Sports category while Shaikh Rashid Al Nuaimi, head of the Municipality and Planning Department — Ajman won in the youth category for individuals. Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri,
Chief of Dubai Police, accepted the award in the safety and security category for institutions on behalf of the force. The Audience Award, which was introduced this year, went to Egyptian comedy actor Mohammad Henedi. Individual category Personality of the Year: Queen Rania Al Abdullah
