Infections among Emiratis increasing

ABU DHABI CROWN PRINCE VISITS EMIRATES FIELD HOSPITAL

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday visited the Emirates field hospital in Mohammad Bin Zayed City.

“During a visit to Emirates field hospital in Abu Dhabi, we were briefed on the medical provisions in place as part of the UAE’s precaution­ary measures against Covid-19. We will get through this, together with our frontline’s relentless efforts and determinat­ion,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

The hospital dedicated to Covid-19 patients has state-ofthe-art medical equipment and is run by a team comprising 46 doctors and 155 nurses. It has a capacity of 1,200 beds.

Spread over an area of 29,000 square metres, the hospital has 25 nursing areas, clinics and a laboratory, as well as fixed and mobile pharmacies and medical stores among other things.

During his visit, Shaikh Mohammad was briefed by Salem Al Nuaimi, board chairman of the Abu Dhabi Health Services

Company (Seha), on the facilities and equipment in the hospital.

Shaikh Mohammad reaffirmed that the UAE’s leadership is keen to strengthen the capabiliti­es and readiness of the health sector to ensure a strong response in the face of current and future challenges.

He pointed out that the field hospital is an addition to government and private hospitals, and specialise­d medical care institutio­ns and centres in the country’s health system.

“The UAE will spare no effort in providing the best health care that ensure the health and safety of the members of society. Human life is always on top of the country’s priorities,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

He thanked medical staff, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, assistants, administra­tors and field medical teams, who are on the frontlines of the battle against the coronaviru­s, for their exceptiona­l efforts and dedication to maintainin­g the safety and health of the community.

“It is important that citizens and residents continue to abide by precaution­ary measures in order to see a decline in the number of infected people. I am confident that they understand and adhere to these measures,” Shaikh Mohammad said.
