India has over 800,000 cases, 22,000 deaths

In just three weeks, India has gone from being the world’s sixth worst-hit country by Covid-19 to the third. Infections breached the 800,000 mark yesterday, with cases doubling every three weeks. Deaths crossed 22,000. India is testing more than 250,000 samples daily, but this is inadequate in a country of nearly 1.4 billion people

India and China yesterday reaffirmed to ensure “complete disengagement” of the troops in the region for “full restoration” of peace along the Line of Actual Control. The Ministry of External Affairs said the talks were held under the Working Mechanism for Consultation & Coordination on IndiaChina Border Affairs.
